A while ago I started the 100 happy days challenge (read here about why I started) and also a while ago I have completed it: Woohoo!
I feel very happy and very proud of myself. It seems like a small and simple thing, but honestly it wasn’t always as easy. Not everyday is a happy day and on those days it’s hardest (and most necessary) to find a happy moment (and capture it in a picture). And that’s when it got a little bit difficult. I’m one of those people that don’t always push through. When the fun part is over, I usually don’t feel like finishing what I’m doing and so I quit! I know, it’s a bad quality, but I’m working on it. And that’s exactly why I feel so proud that I did finish this challenge!
I’m an overall happy and positive person, but I still feel like this challenge probably gave me even more happy moments. I am firm believer in fake it ’til you make it and in this case, it worked for me. This challenge challenges you (see what I did there?) to look for the happy things in your everyday life and just thinking about those moments kind of forces you to have a smile on your face, even if it’s just for a little while.
The first 2 times I decided to take on the challenge via email, because I didn’t want to post all my personal s%&# online, but that didn’t hold me accountable at all and that’s probably why I didn’t complete it. So this time I decided to do it via Instagram and that was a great decision. The only negative part of the challenge is that you have to keep in mind that it’s not about the likes 😉
My theory is this:
“A happy life is a collection of small happy moments”
Since that’s what I believe, and this challenge forces you to really think about those little happy moments, it automatically should make you feel a little happier, right?
Have you taken the challenge yet? What was your experience? And what challenge are you taking on next? I’m looking for inspiration 😉
