3 Holiday Nail Looks

Those who know me, or have read this post or this post, know that I swear by my red nailpolish. All red everything. Though it doesn’t seem like it, because my nails are almost always on point, this is actually quite a very lazy choice. In my opinion

this is the color that suits EVERY outfit and always looks polished

(#punintended). I also happen to really love the retro look of red nails (Read all about one of my biggest modern/ retro style inspirations; Dita von Teese) But for the upcoming holidays, I might make an exception. Here are some options I might go for and how to achieve these.

Grey & Golden Dots

Tools

  • Clear base/top coat
  • Grey nailpolish
  • Golden nailpolish
  • Toothpick

Instructions

  1. Always apply a base coat first (especially if you’re doing colored nailpolish)
  2. Apply the grey nailpolish. I always like to do 2 coats to have that deep vibrant color
  3. Dip the toothpick in the golden nailpolish. Make sure to try it first on a simple piece of paper. You need to get a feel of how much nailpolish needs to be on the toothpick.
  4. Apply 3 small dots in the middle of your nail and let it dry for a full 10 minutes
  5. Apply a clear top coat to make you manicure last longer

Black & Gold Triangles

Tools

  • Clear base/top coat
  • Grey nailpolish
  • Golden nailpolish
  • Scissors
  • Washitape (or regular scotchtape. Although I find colored tape easier)

Instructions

  1. Cut off little pieces (1 cm/ 0.5 inch) of washi tape
  2. Cut a triangle in the middle
  3. Apply a base coat
  4. Apply the black nailpolish. I always like to do 2 coats to have that deep vibrant color. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
  5. Tape the pieces of washitape to all of your nails
  6. Apply the gold nailpolish and remove the washitape almost immediately. Make sure the nailpolish had time to dry a little, but not too much.
  7. Apply a clear top coat to make you manicure last longer

Grey Brushed Metal & Blue Brushed Metal Stripes

Tools

  • Clear base/top coat
  • Grey nailpolish
  • Golden nailpolish
  • Scissors
  • Washitape (or regular scotchtape. Although I find colored tape easier)

Instructions

  1. Cut off little pieces (1 cm/ 0.5 inch) of washi tape
  2. Apply a base coat
  3. Apply the grey nailpolish. I always like to do 2 coats to have that deep vibrant color. Let it dry for 30 minutes.
  4. Tape the pieces of washitape to all of your nails however you like it
  5. Apply the blue nailpolish and remove the washitape almost immediately. Make sure the nailpolish had time to dry a little, but not to much.
  6. Apply a clear top coat to make you manicure last longer

I hope you have a great time planning your Christmas & New Years Eve & I can’t wait to see your photos! www.kynzah.com
